India Thwarts Pakistan Drone and Missile Attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab & Rajasthan | N18G

Pakistan launched a major drone and missile attack on May 8, targeting several Indian military locations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur. Indian forces quickly responded and successfully intercepted eight missiles and multiple loitering munitions aimed at areas like Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia, according to reports. One Pakistani Air Force jet was reportedly shot down near Pathankot in Punjab. To prevent further damage, India enforced blackouts in several border cities, including Jammu, following explosions near the Line of Control. Drone attacks were also reported as far as Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. The Indian Defence Ministry confirmed there were no casualties. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, assuring them that India will strongly counter any attempts to escalate tensions.
