India launches strike against Pakistan in wake of tourist massacre

India said early Wednesday it had launched a military operation against Pakistan, hitting “terrorist infrastructure” in both Pakistan and Pakistan administered-Kashmir, in a major escalation of tensions between the two neighbors.

Pakistan says Indian aircraft downed: A spokesperson for Pakistan’s military told CNN it shot down two Indian aircraft. CNN cannot independently the claims and has reached out to the Indian Ministry of Defense.

Pakistan said five locations were struck by India, three of them in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and two in Pakistan’s Punjab province. At least three people were killed, Pakistan said.
